Jairo Diae, a nine-year-old student involved in Lab School presented a challenge on one of the last days of school. He wrote Boeing about his proposal for them to build a prototype of a jet he designed as a result of the exposure to aeronautics engineering by our teachers.
Jairo aspires to be an engineer and wants to work for Boeing, the world’s largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners and defense, space and security systems.
“Our teachers are sometimes the only ones who believe in the students ability to learn and grow intellectually,” says Dr. Kamal Hamdan, executive director of CSI³. “We make every effort for them to thrive and become confident in their abilities.”
A top performers of his class, Jairo is one of many children who demonstrate how students can imagine complex ideas and envision high-designs when presented to them in a productive and enriching ways.
Boering … we are still waiting.
